follow Passover which is based on the lunar calendar.<br />
<br />
In 2021, Easter will be on Sunday, April, 4th.<br />
<br />
Catholics and most Protestants use the new Gregorian calendar decreed by Pope
Gregory XIII in 1582 to calculate the date of Easter.<br />
<br />
The time of Easter is based on the cycles of the moon, the equinox, and seasons
and things in nature.<br />
<br />
In simple terms Easter occurs on the first Sunday following the first full moon
that occurs on or after the day of the vernal equinox (the first day of
spring). <br />
<br />
In 2021, the vernal equinox was on Wednesday, March 20th. The first full moon
after that was on March, 28th. Thus, Easter will be on Sunday, April,
4th.<br />
<br />
The earliest Easter can be is March 22 as it was last in 1818 and will be next
in 2285.<br />
<br />
The latest Easter can be is April 25 as it was last in 1943 and will be next in
2038.</span></p>

How are you doing?</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Confiram!</span><br />
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Ex.: </span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">fine, wine, hide, mile, time.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">b) também tem o som de /<i>ai</i>/ antes das terminações: gh, ght, gn, ld e nd. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Ex: </span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">night, fight, kind, high, sign.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b>I com o som de /<i>i</i>/</b> (igual ao português)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">– diante de todas as palavras que terminam em consoantes simples. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Ex: </span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">win, this, kit, sin, swim.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b>I com o som de /<i>ã</i>/</b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">– quando aparecer antes da letra R. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Ex.: s</span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">ir, first, circle, birthday, third.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b>Exceção</b>: quando a letra <b>I</b> preceder um R seguido de uma vogal, conservará o som de /i/ (como no caso anterior). </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Ex.: </span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">spirit, virulent, conspiracy.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b><u>Pay Attention</u>!</b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b>IE</b> tem o som de /<i><b>i</b></i>/ nas palavras: <i>believe, field, pierce</i>.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b>IE</b> tem o som de /<i><b>ai</b></i>/ nas palavras: <i>die, lie, hie, tie, vie</i>.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">“<i><b>To make a long story short...</b></i>” – “Para resumir…”</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Quando os substantivos ou verbos mudam o <b>y</b> para <i><b>ies</b></i> o <b>I</b> conserva o som da palavra primitiva. Exs.:</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">fly /<i>flai</i>/ flies /<i>flais</i>/</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">country /<i>kantri</i>/ countries /<i>kantris</i>/</span>Paulo Roberto Pedrozo Rochahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09548044606497976621noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5330747671178329079.post-26073761486521957372015-06-02T21:29:00.000-03:002015-06-02T21:29:07.783-03:00What does Corpus Christi mean?<!--[if !mso]>

<br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Está certo. </span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Neste "<i>post</i>" quero compartilhar um outro <i>UP</i>. Confira!</span></span><br />
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Ex: <i>I was <b>upset </b>because I failed the exam. </i></span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><i> </i>(Eu fiquei triste porque não passei na prova.)</span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"> <i>I'm <b>upset </b>because you lied to me. </i> </span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"> (Estou triste porque você mentiu para mim.)</span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Já o verbo<u><b> to upset</b></u> significa preocupar alguém, entristecer ou deixar a pessoa com raiva.</span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Ex: <i>I'm sorry I <b>upset</b> you. I didn't mean to be rude</i>. </span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"> (Sinto ter chateado você.
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Kisses and Hugs.</span></span><br />

<b><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Como se Pronuncia a Vogal A em Inglês!</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Vejam estas dicas:</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">01. Com o som de /<i><b>ei</b></i>/, como na palavra <i>peito</i>.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">- Isto acontece quando a letra <u>a</u> vem antes de uma consoante com <i>e</i> mudo final, ou quando encontramos <b>AI</b> ou <b>AY</b>.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> Ex: <i>Hate - Male - Take - Game - Fame - Day - Pray - Rain.</i></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">02. Com o som de /<i><b>a</b></i>/, como na palavra <i>carro</i>.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Ainda também antes das terminações: <i>lf, lve, lm, th</i>.
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> Ex: <i>Star - Dark - Path - Half - Hard - Hat - Glad - Trap</i>.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Trata-se de: <i>to be bubble over</i>.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Quando alguém está <i>"bubble over" </i>isto quer dizer que a pessoa está muito feliz ou emocionada, cheia de orgulho.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Vejam os exemplos abaixo:</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
</span><br />

<div style="border: 0px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 8px; margin-top: 8px; padding: 0px;">
<div style="border: 0px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 8px; margin-top: 8px; padding: 0px;">
<em><span style="background-color: #d9ead3; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></em></div>
<div style="border: 0px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 8px; margin-top: 8px; padding: 0px;">
<em><b><span style="background-color: #d9ead3; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I'm so excited about our holiday - I'm bubbling over at the moment.</span></b></em></div>
<div style="border: 0px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 8px; margin-top: 8px; padding: 0px;">
<span style="background-color: #d9ead3; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Eu estou tão entusiasmado com nossas férias - estou muito feliz agora.</span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 8px; margin-top: 8px; padding: 0px;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: red;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: right;">
<i style="background-color: red;">Hideyo Saito e Antonio Gabriel Haddad</i></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />

<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">The origins of carnival date back to the ancient Greek spring festival in honor of Dionysus, the god of wine. </span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">The Romans adopted the celebration with Bacchanalia (feasts in honor of Bacchus, the Roman equivalent to Dionysus), and Saturnalia, where slaves and their masters would exchange clothes in a day of drunken revelry. </span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Saturnalia was later modified by the Roman Catholic Church into a festival leading up Ash Wednesday. </span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">It quickly evolved into a massive celebration of indulgences - one last gasp of music, food, alcohol, and sex before Lent - before the 40 days of personal reflection, abstinence, and fasting until Easter (not exactly what the Church probably had in mind). </span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Forty (40) days of purging sins, preceded by a week filled with virtually every known sin. The word itself comes from Latin, "Carne Vale" or "Farewell to the Flesh".</span></span>Paulo Roberto Pedrozo Rochahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09548044606497976621noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5330747671178329079.post-83421435855130193122012-01-17T21:13:00.000-02:002012-01-17T21:13:51.677-02:00Preposições em Português & Preposições em InglêsAqui vai uma boa dica a respeito do uso das preposições seguidas de verbos.<br />
